Market Pulse Monday: December 9th-15th

This week, we bring to you Market Pulse Monday: A new column in which we will present a couple (potentially) important events happening throughout the upcoming week. Here are a couple things to watch out for:

Economic Events of the Week

There are always an abundance of earnings calls every week from companies you may have never even heard of as well as other important economic events that may or may not affect the overall market. Here are a few highlights: Monday (12/9): -Zoltek Companies ($ZOLT) is a materials manufacturing company headquartered in Saint Louis,MO that specializes in the manufacture, marketing and development of commercial carbon fiber. Their earnings call is scheduled today (12/9) with an estimated EPS of 0.14. Tuesday (12/10): -H&R Block ($HRB), the popular online accounting service is holding their earnings call after the market close. Their EPS is estimated to be at -0.37 -Autozone Inc ($AZO is holding their earnings call before  the market opens. AutoZone is a retailer and distributor of automotive replacement parts and accessories in the United States. -Smith and Wesson Holding Corp ($SWHC), is holding their earnings call after the market close and has an estimated EPS of 0.21. S&W  is one of the manufacturers of firearms. It manufacture an array of handguns, modern sporting rifles, hunting rifles, black powder firearms, handcuffs, and firearm-related products and accessories Wednesday (12/11): -Men's Wearhouse ($MW) is holding their call after the market close and have an expected EPS of 0.86. Men's Wearhouse is a retailer of men's suits and a provider of tuxedo rental product in the United States and Canada. -Costco Wholesale Corp ($COST) is holding their call at an unspecified time and have an expected EPS of 1.03. Costco is engaged in the operation of membership warehouses in the United States (U.S.) and Puerto Rico, Canada, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Japan, Australia, and through majority-owned subsidiaries in Taiwan and Korea. 2 pm ET: The U.S treasury is releasing its monthly account of the surplus or deficit of the federal government. Thursday (12/12) -Adobe Systems Inc ($ADBE) is holding their call at an unspecified time and have an EPS estimate of 0.32. Adobe offers a line of software and services used by creative professionals, marketers, developers, enterprises and consumers for creating, managing, delivering, measuring, optimizing and engaging with compelling operating systems -Lululemon Athletica Inc ($LULU) is holding their call at an unspecified time and have an expected EPS of 0.41. Lululemon is engaged in the design, manufacture and distribution of healthy lifestyle inspired athletic apparel, which is sold through a chain of corporate-owned and operated retail stores, independent franchises and a network of wholesale accounts. 8:30AM ET: The government is releasing the jobless claims report.   There's the lowdown on some noteworthy events for the week.
